Young people in the Wenatchee Valley need connection, belonging, and adults who will show up for them. We can learn their names, listen to their ideas, serve alongside them, and make sure they know this is *their* Church, too.
A few dedicated volunteers have been doing a great deal for our youth. **They need more of us beside them.** The more people in our parish who step forward, the more trusted adults our young people can turn to when they need encouragement, guidance, or simply someone to listen.
Many of us know what it felt like when the gap between generations went unbridged. **We have a chance to leave a better legacy:** one where faith is shared through friendship, trust, and time spent together. That takes more than one event, but this weekend is a place to start.
On Friday, October 9^th, youth from across Central Washington will connect and serve together at Youth Service Day, beginning at 12 p.m. An optional supervised overnight stay continues into Saturday. **We need volunteers to support the youth from our parish who are attending. Please call the parish office to learn how you can help.
On Saturday, October 10^th, the Church Mission Congress brings the community together at La Salle High School for music, talks, and activities. This year’s theme, Youth with a Mission*, celebrates the 75th anniversary of the Diocese of Yakima while looking toward the young people who will carry our faith forward.
Our young people are part of the Church **right now**. Let’s cross that gap together and show them they have a whole community behind them. 💙
